Thao and Levi founded the recently launched HeartSpace Cards in 2017, which just so happens to be the same year that they became engaged. They started dating back in 2009, but their relationship was anything but normal. Thao was studying business at ASU, and Levi spent a number of years working as a military contractor in Iraq, and Afghanistan. This unique situation meant that they had to make a long distance relationship work.

To help stay connected, they sent each other cards, letters, and packages. But, they found that basic greeting cards couldn’t say all the things they wanted to say to each other. To make things more personalized, Levi and Thao began creating their own custom cards. While they did not realize it at the time, that was the birth of HeartSpace Cards.

It wasn’t until early 2016 that they got the idea to create HeartSpace Cards. While moving into a new house they ran into an old box that had a lot of old gifts, and letters from when their relationship was long distance. After rummaging through the old gifts they found that much of what they created was far better than what is found on the shelves of any grocery store.

While their love of entrepreneurship has inspired several businesses, it was their personal experience with long distance relationships that led them to create HeartSpace Cards.
